Clear Audit Trail

The Clear Audit Trail option can be run as part of the Month End and Year End routines. It is a way of clearing down paid and reconciled transactions prior to a specified date. This way you can decide how long you keep individual transactions live on the system.

We recommend that you take a print out of your audit trail with a date range that includes your current monthÆs transactions, before you clear your audit trial.

When you clear the audit trail, it will remove each transaction that meets the following criteria:

image\bullet.gifIt is fully reconciled for VAT purposes, if applicable; and

image\bullet.gifIt is reconciled with the appropriate bank account, if applicable.

image\bullet.gifAny transactions that do not meet all of the above criteria are not cleared from the audit trail.

When you clear the audit trail, any customer and supplier transactions dated before the specified date are brought forward as items. Similarly, transactions on the nominal ledger are brought forward as the opening balances for the new financial month.

Note: If you clear down your audit trail, any cleared transactions will not appear in the transactional-based management reports or in any æbrought forwardÆ statements.
